Defeated in the last year’s game against Chery Tiggo, yet the Creamline Cool Smashers rose ablaze as they were triumphant in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference. This victory reflected the struggle that the team has gone through, like a phoenix that crumbled into dust, arises from the ashes, and ablaze a new victorious rebirth.

Creamline Cool Smashers successfully maneuvered the final game with 25-18, 15-25, 25-23, 25-16, which perfectly swept over Petro Gazz Angels in game 2 of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference finals at Ynares Center in Antipolo last, April 8, 2022.

This year was an astonishing bounce back to Creamline Cool Smashers after they were crushed by Chery Tiggo Crossovers during the 2021 PVL open conference in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

The game soared high as Alyssa Valdez coasted the game to victory delivering 20 points and 11 digs that undoubtedly garnered the final MVP. Along with Jema Galanza and the Open Conference MVP Tots Carlos who rendered the game with 16 enormous points.

As Jia Morado-De Guzman choreographed the play with the Creamline’s unique offense, she delivered 39 excellent sets and followed by Kyla Atienza who got 14 digs with an outstanding reception that primed the game. Also, Galanza took the responsibility to advance the score of Creamline from angels. From 10-9, Galanza and her team did not miss any chance, she galvanized her team, and Creamline acquired 17-11. That momentum drove Alyssa Valdez to position her dreadful spikes and digs.

The fourth set of the game was a flame that fascinated each party to draw heavy spikes with distinct techniques and was desperately determined to prevail in the 2022 PVL championship.

The last game was ended by 24-16 after the remarkable pick-up of De Guzman that made her roll down together with the blast of confetti that fell like rain and a more or less 7,000 boisterous crowd echoing the court. A symbolism of a victorious battle of Creamline Cool Smashers that conquered and successfully reclaimed the volleyball title.

“It’s worth all the sacrifices after we came up short the first time out,” said Galanza.

“It’s all mental toughness and the strategies that we made,” said Valdez, the captain and PVL’s MVP player.

Their victory was not only for themselves but also for their coach, team, their franchise, and most especially the full support of their families, friends and fans.

The finest game of Creamline that led them to victory was one in a million as their vengeance was precise towards Petro Gazz Angels, which vanquished them late 2019 Reinforced Conference Finals held at Ynares Center.

May this game inspire everyone to see failure as a motivation to do better and an opportunity to learn. Overpowering stress and hopelessness will not help you overcome failure. Creamline Cool Smashers’ victory showed everyone that a defeat does not spell out failure but the endeavor to pursue growth, determination, and persistence that will soon lead to triumph.
